Who We Are – Our Mission

Hello from Angelika & Sean -

We founded the 5R Racehorse Trust and Charity after adopting three thoroughbred yearlings from severe abuse at a New York racehorse breeding farm.

What is the charity about?  Getting involved with the rescue and the adoption of the yearlings we found that there are many worthy and dedicated organizations and individuals who deeply care about the welfare of race horses.  Most all of them rely on donations and sponsorships and we want to help to raise funds and to create connections. So let’s say a therapeutic riding group in Virginia needs a suitable horse for their program and a retirement and retraining organization in California might just have the right candidate for them – we want to make sure they find each other and that we can provide them with the funds to transfer the horse across the country to his or her new home.
